Diminished Light - Pistol

Picture
Diminished Light - Pistol

To the untrained, darkness is a disadvantage.  It hides threats, amplifies your deficiencies  and increases anxiety.  Statically, more crime and shooting engagements occur in these conditions.  With proficiency, you can use the darkness to your advantage to cover your movement and use the controlled light to eliminate the attackers vision. Whether the darkness is an asset or liability, is entirely up to your training.

Course Description:

According to FBI's uniform crime reporting statistics, 80% of shootings occur in low light or no light environments.  The same study showed that in the cases of murder, rape and assault / battery, all of these crimes are more likely to occur in the evening and night time hours.  With the likelihood of firearms use being in dim locations, less than 5% of the average shooters training takes place in these conditions.  Darkness creates additional problems of longer scanning / processing times.  With all these known factors, low light training should be high on every shooters priority level.  We will start off with firearm and equipment setup review for low light engagements and then slowly move into shooting drills in well lit lighting conditions to build comfort and proficiency.  The learning continues as the light begins to fade.  We will show you our learned skills on how to cut down on processing time in the dark as well as introduce you to proper target scan procedures.  We will demonstrate how proper a properly mounted firearm light can aid in target aim speed in the dark.  The course goal is to have the shooter identify that with the proper training we can turn the tides on the battle and use darkness to our advantage.
